In a recent conversation with Declan Cahill, Basketball Coach, here is what he had to say about Chin Up Goggles.
“I used Chin Up Goggles with an U16 boys basketball team that finished 5th in Ireland.
Pros of Chin Up Goggles
+ Simple easy to use
+ Encourages players to keep their head up
+ Immediate results
+ Fun
+ Reusable
+ Good for all ages
When it comes to coaching underage teams, fundamentals are massive.
I was approached about using the Chin Up Goggles and thought it was a great idea. Although the idea was simple, it really works. I tried them myself before the team, and found them challenging me to focus on my dribble moves while doing my simple drills, at the time I would have been playing National League.
I never realised how much I relied on my peripheral vison for dribbling. I could see the immediate advantage of these goggles personally and didn’t hesitate to get the players to try them.
These googles had proven a challenge even to the best dribblers on the team.
I continued to use them with the guys when we would run dribbling series with them, and as the weeks went on I could see the difference.
They also proved to be fun to use as well, as my team was quite competitive and loved facing a challenge.
I have since recommended them to other coaches in my club. My belief is that the younger that players get the chance to use Chin Up Goggles the more beneficial it would be.
I feel Chin Up Goggles can help improve the dribbling skills of all basketball players and I feel they are essential in the fundamental development of our young players.”
